# Instagram

> Pull posts and creator profiles into Afflo Social Listen.

Connecting Instagram lets Afflo monitor posts mentioning your brand and your affiliates — so you can see content, sentiment, and engagement inside **Social Listen**.

## What it does

* Pulls posts that mention your handle or hashtags you care about
* Surfaces profiles of creators posting about you
* Feeds the Content, Creators, and Analytics tabs on Social Listen

## Before you start

* An Instagram **Business** or **Creator** account linked to a Facebook Page
* Admin access to the Facebook Page

## Connect

    Go to **Integrations → Social → Instagram** and click **Connect**.

  <Step title="Sign in to Facebook">
    Afflo redirects you to Facebook. Sign in as the admin of the Page linked to your Instagram account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Grant permissions">
    Approve the read-only access Afflo requests (post content and engagement metrics).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick the Instagram account">
    Select the Business or Creator account you want to monitor. You can change this later.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Finish">
    Return to Afflo. Your first posts appear in Social Listen within a few minutes.
  </Step>

## What syncs

* Posts that mention your handle or tracked hashtags
* Engagement metrics: likes, comments, shares, views
* Creator profile basics: handle, followers, bio

Direct messages are **not** accessed.

## Disconnect

Open **Integrations → Social → Instagram** and click **Disconnect**. Past synced data stays in Social Listen.

## Tips

* Personal Instagram accounts aren't supported. Switch to a Business or Creator account first — the change is free.
* Add the hashtags your program uses to Social Listen so branded campaigns show up without needing an @mention.
* Re-approve the connection if Facebook prompts for it. Permission refreshes are normal.

## Troubleshooting

**"We couldn't find your Instagram account."** Confirm the account is set to Business or Creator and is linked to a Facebook Page you admin.

**Posts aren't appearing.** New posts can take up to 30 minutes to flow in. If nothing shows up after an hour, disconnect and reconnect.
