You’ll earn more — and keep brands excited to work with you — by treating affiliate links like a first-class part of your content, not an afterthought.

Content that converts

  • Show the product in use. Demos and honest reactions outperform static product photos.
  • Lead with a benefit. “This fixed my morning routine” beats “new product launch.”
  • One CTA per piece. Trying to push your link, code, and three other things at once dilutes everything.
  • Repeat the link or code. Say it twice — at the start and end of a video, top and bottom of a newsletter.
  • Bio link on every platform
  • Pinned comments on reels, shorts, and TikToks
  • Shownotes for podcasts
  • Newsletter footer plus one in-body mention
  • Story stickers and swipe-ups

Disclose properly

Most regions require you to tell your audience when a post is an affiliate or paid partnership. Common phrasings:
  • “#ad” or “#sponsored” at the top of the caption
  • “paid partnership with [brand]” disclosure on Instagram and TikTok
  • “This post contains affiliate links” in newsletter footers
Clear disclosure builds trust. Audiences are more skeptical of hidden sponsorships than of openly labeled ones.

Work the relationship

  • Ask for the product. Brands usually send product when you ask — just ask early in your collaboration.
  • Share your results. A screenshot of your performance or a note on what worked goes a long way.
  • Suggest ideas. If you spot a post type working, pitch an expanded version back to the brand.
  • Respond quickly. Brands often reward the fastest, most reliable partners with bigger campaigns.

Tools you probably already use

  • Link-in-bio tools (Linktree, Beacons, etc.) — paste your Afflo link in and update anytime.
  • Note to self app — save the link, the code, and two or three ready-to-paste captions.
  • Calendar reminders — schedule your next post the moment a piece publishes.

Tips for long-term success

  • Put your best effort into the first two posts. Strong early results get you perks later.
  • Don’t spam your audience. One solid mention per week is more effective than three half-hearted ones.
  • Keep an eye on your dashboard. It tells you what content actually drives sales.
