Every creator gets a personal referral link. Some programs also include a personal discount code. Both tie every click and order back to you. Your link lives on your profile inside the brand’s app. The brand’s team can share it with you in two ways:
  • Via email. Your welcome email includes your link.
  • From your profile inside the brand’s workspace. The brand can copy it from your Overview tab and send it over.
If your program also includes a discount code, it’s shown next to the link.
  • Someone clicks your link and lands on the brand’s store.
  • Afflo tags that visit to you using a tracking cookie.
  • If they buy within the program’s attribution window (the time a click stays “valid”), you earn the commission.

How the discount code works

  • Share your code anywhere your audience hears you (bio, podcast, live stream, email).
  • When a shopper enters the code at checkout, the purchase attributes to you even if they didn’t click your link.
  • This is great for podcasts, newsletters, and offline channels where clicks are hard.

Where to share

  • Bio link on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X
  • Pinned comment or description on long-form posts
  • Newsletter footers and CTAs
  • Shownotes for podcasts
  • Story stickers and swipe-ups

Tips

  • Use the link consistently. One memorable URL beats ten variants.
  • Mention the code clearly. “Use code JANE10 at checkout for 10% off” converts better than burying it.
  • Don’t shorten your link through a third-party shortener unless the brand supports it. It can break attribution.

Troubleshooting

The link looks long or odd. That’s normal — the extra characters are what tell Afflo which creator drove the click. A sale wasn’t attributed. The shopper may have clicked outside your program’s attribution window, or cleared their cookies. Ask the brand’s team to check.
